Sam finished his first course of chemo yesterday; he seemed to tolerate the treatment well and is actually going home for 2 weeks to rest! He’ll have to go back for checks every Tuesday and Friday. A very important part of the check is his white blood cell count. The lower the count, the more susceptible he will be to infections. Visits to crowded public places and his preschool aren’t an option, but he can have limited visits with healthy friends. Margot’s Dad Marty arrived in San Diego yesterday and will be a great help – especially when it comes to packing up Sam’s room. Though small, it’s filled with toys and gifts from well-wishers all over.
