Quick update – We are going to be in the hospital for at least fourteen days so Sam can finish his Vanco treatment. They think his line is infected and they will have to take it out and put in a temporary line until the infection clears and they can put a new one in. That may happen today. I can’t believe we made it this long and now we have a line infection. Arggh!

He is feeling fine and played in the playroom yesterday and made some new friends and his teacher has come the last two days. He mysteriously starts feeling badly about 25 minutes into the lesson but seems to perk right up after she leaves ;-).

His favortie child life specialist, Julie, comes every day to see him and they play video games. We’ve successfully done three days of tomo radiation and one day of radiation on his leg. It’s really frustrating because we spend almost all day down in radiation where they draw on his leg, set the spot with X-rays and Catscans and then redraw everything and then decide it’s a bad set up and we go through the whole thing again. During the entire time, Sam is expected not to move. He does pretty well. I know they need to get it right but I want to strangle the tech when they look at the scan and say, “Oh, no, that’s not right and then they call in the doctors and they all consult while Sam’s still stitting there on the table. Hopefully, now that they finally have the leg set, it’ll go more quickly.

Must run, Sammy is still sleeping and I’m down in the cafe that has wireless connection getting email and doing a bit of work. I don’t want him to wake up without me.

Neil is coming up today and will spend the night tonight and I’ll go back to San Deigo for a night to see Andy.
