The doctors think the HVA and VMA numbers are good news since the HVA is down so much and the VMA is still normal. I think they are all still concerned about the scans though. We are scheduled for a new MIBG, MRI and more blood work on the 16th and 17th of this month. We are all set for the Fenretinide trial following those scans if we need treatment. We’ve been studying the data and got some encouraging answers from Dr. Villablanca and have tentatively decided to go with the Fenretinide trial and wait on the antibodies. This could change of course and things seem to change daily but that’s our current plan.
The Fenretinide is in a powder form that we mix with SlimFast. Somehow the makeup of SlimFast helps the body absorb it better. I figure it’s something Sammy and I can take together since I’ll be losing baby weight ;-).
We have had a great weekend so far. The boys are happy to have Neil home. They’ve been swimming and playing with friends for the past couple of days. They are downstairs yelling for me now. Sammy needs help with his handwriting and Andrew is painting on the kitchen table ( hopefully not painting the actual table). Who knows what sort of mess is going on down there. I’ll keep posting daily or at least every other day. No Charlie yet. I see my OBGYN on Tuesday. We’re going up to Kate Sessions this afternoon with a big group of for the concerts in the park this afternoon. They’re having Salsa and Latin Jazz today. Can wait to see the boys dancing Salsa.
