Neil just got back the latest VMA/HVA after a couple of botched tests. The HVA is 14.8 (still higher than normal) and VMA is 11.4 up three points from the last test. While three points isn’t really a significant jump, the fact that it is going up is not good and probably means he still has disease. ugh. And we were getting close to normal on that last test. Our history on VMA/HVA since starting chemo is as follows:
VMA Child:: Reference is
HVA Child: Reference is
10/2/2006: HVA 20 and VMA 17.6
10/9/2006: HVA 19.3 and VMA 15.1
10/16/2006: HVA 14.3 and VMA 9.9
10/27/2006: HVA 15 and VMA 10.5
11/8/2006: HVA 14.6 and VMA 8.1
12/13/2006: HVA 14.8 and VMA 11.4
We’re trending up on this last one though VMA seems to bounce around some. We’re going to do three days of chemo after Christmas, the 26th, 27th and 28th and then scan in the first week of January or so.
Sammy just woke up late and climbed onto my lap. The first question out of his mouth was, “Do we have to go to the hospital today?” It was so nice to be able to tell him no, he has two whole days of not having to go to the hospital. He ran downstairs to play swords with Andrew.
