Numbers Down

By Margot | February 20, 2009

 Quick numbers update:

Neil just called me from the hosptial and our VMA/HVA numbers are down.  We took them twice this last week.   On Monday afternoon and first thing Tuesday morning.  The Monday afternoon numbers were: VMA 30 and HVA 19 and the Tuesday morning numbers were VMA 35 and HVA 27.   Quite a big difference for one day -might have been the time of day.  Still if you take the average, we are moving in the right direction.

YES! Sam is definitely the man – he can bend it WAY better than Beckham; anyone can make a ball curve, Sam keeps bending that crappy disease! Much tougher. AND he looks cooler with no hair…

Hi Hutchisons, I grew up down the street from Neil and went to ND also. Just wanted you to know we are praying for Sam every day and my kids and I lit candles at the ND Grotto this week with Cancer Kids in mind (we are friends of Alex Podeszwa, also). Neil, Terry passed along the story about your unique approach to fighting this monster and I am so proud of you and can’t imagine doing anything else. Margot, I read some of your posts and, as a mom, can only imagine…the hide and seek image really struck me. Too much. God bless you and all your beautiful boys! Your Brighton and Notre Dame families are rooting for you all!! Go Sam Go!

We also prayed for Sammy and your family at the Grotto this past weekend, Neil and Margot!
It was snowing, blustery and cold… typical South Bend winter… glad the sun is cooperating in your neck of the woods! Happy to hear about the numbers and Sam is clever for thinking of a star on the spot ! Margot… one day at a time… you are strong… and amazing ! Sammy has inherited this strength and determination from his parents !
    Happy thoughts sent from PA,
    Colleen

Hi Marg, I’m “oh so happy” that Sam does not have to go back in the hospital to take the strong chemo! Hopefully the oral stuff will be just as potent! I’m cheering that his numbers went down; but then, you tell me certain other numbers have to go up in order for him to get to do some trial! I’ll never understand this wicked disease! but right now; I am happy, happy, happy that Sam can go back to school; that he is going to be Ghandi tomorrow!- even dressing like him! All the bald headed guys he emulates are getting better and better! just like Sam! Much Love “Mom” “Grandma Sara”
