Orbital Cellulitis

By Margot | December 2, 2009

Just a quick update to say that the head CT showed that Sam has orbital cellulitis.  Basically it’s a sinus infection in the eye that can be quite serious but should be knocked out with the antibiotics within 24 to 48 hours.  That’s a relief.  Don’t know how left arm and leg relate but will keep you posted.

Thanks for checking in.

What a zoo! Happy that this can be bombarded with antibiotics. Very sad that Sam is back inpatient. I know he’s got way too much going on to park it there for any amount of time.

    Read, read, read!

Yikes! I’m just now catching up with the last several days’ news. What a whirlwind. How nice to finally have something to treat. Hope those antibiotics work some serious wonders.

Oh no! Im glad its something that antibiotics can knock out. max had severe cellulitis and it was quite painful. Im guessing that is the sensitivity to light thing? I hope he is feeling great in a nother day or two. Thinking of you guys- hang in there.

Your instincts were right on …. way back when, you wondered if the pain had something to do with his sinuses. Docs should listen to Moms! Hope the antibiotics work the miracles they are supposed to and that Sam bounces back in a couple days, so he can enjoy all the excitement of a build-up to a great christmas at home. Thinking of you. Hoping you are out of the hospital as soon as possible. I know your voice must be getting sore with all that reaading, but I know Sam loves it. Nothing more soothing than a mother’s voice reading to her child.
